چکیده

We provide the first provable-security analysis of the Intel Secure Key hardware RNG (ISK-RNG), versions of which have appeared in Intel processors since late 2011. To model the ISKRNG, we generalize the PRNG-with-inputs primitive, introduced by Dodis et al. at CCS’13 for their /dev/[u]random analysis. The concrete security bounds we uncover tell a mixed story. We find that ISKRNG lacks backward-security altogether, and that the forward-security bound for the “truly random” bits fetched by the RDSEED instruction is potentially worrisome. On the other hand, we are able to prove stronger forward-security bounds for the pseudorandom bits fetched by the RDRAND instruction. En route to these results, our main technical efforts focus on the way in which ISK-RNG employs CBCMAC as an entropy extractor.

Computationally secure multiple secret sharing: models, schemes, and formal security analysis

A multi-secret sharing scheme (MSS) allows a dealer to share multiple secrets among a set of participants. in such a way a multi-secret sharing scheme (MSS) allows a dealer to share multiple secrets among a set of participants, such that any authorized subset of participants can reconstruct the secrets. Up to now, existing MSSs either require too long shares for participants to be perfect secur...

A provable secure anonymous proxy signature scheme without random oracles

In order to protect the proxy signers’ privacy, many anonymous proxy signature schemes which are also called proxy ring signatures, have been proposed. Although the provable security in the random oracle model has received a lot of criticism, there is no provable secure anonymous proxy signature scheme without random oracles. In this paper, we propose the first provable secure anonymous proxy s...

Artemia: a family of provably secure authenticated encryption schemes

Authenticated encryption schemes establish both privacy and authenticity. This paper specifies a family of the dedicated authenticated encryption schemes, Artemia. It is an online nonce-based authenticated encryption scheme which supports the associated data. Artemia uses the permutation based mode, JHAE, that is provably secure in the ideal permutation model. The scheme does not require the in...

Invariant-based Cryptosystems and Their Security Against Provable Worst-Case Break?

Cryptography based on noncommutative algebra still suffers from lack of schemes and lack of interest. In this work, we show new constructions of cryptosystems based on group invariants and suggest methods to make such cryptosystems secure in practice. Cryptographers still cannot prove security in its cryptographic sense or even reduce it to some statement about regular complexity classes. In th...

Provable Secure Encrypted Key Exchange Protocol Under Standard Model

Encrypted key exchange protocol’s goal is to establish a high secure key used for further encryption and authentication through a low secure password. Most existing encrypted key exchange protocols either lack security proofs or rely on the Random Oracle model. Compared with those protocols based on the Random Oracle model, provable secure EKE (encrypted key exchange) protocols have heavier com...
